“This is a biennial event that rotates through European cities and serves as the primary stage for sharing the most important scientific advancements in precision farming,” says Emilio Gil, Chairman of the ECPA 2025 Organizing Committee and Full Professor at UPC. A Scientific Committee made up of 100 researchers from 30 countries has reviewed all submitted papers and selected the best to be featured across 41 sessions held in the Auditori Vèrtex and other venues at UPC’s Campus Nord.
Throughout the scheduled sessions, the conference will explore a wide range of applications in Precision Agriculture, including crop protection, software and mobile app development, aerial and satellite imaging, geostatistics, robotics, and data management.
All of the selected scientific contributions have been compiled in the official Book of Proceedings, published by Brill – Wageningen University Press and edited under the supervision of Dr. John V. Stafford, a globally recognized editor and experienced authority in the field of Precision Agriculture.
“One of the main goals is to address the global climate challenge by optimizing agronomic efficiency and contributing to more resilient and secure food systems worldwide,” adds Emilio Gil, Chairman of ECPA 2025.
The conference is sponsored by 15 companies dedicated to Precision Agriculture and is institutionally supported by the Generalitat de Catalunya, the European Commission, and the Spanish Government.
Mr. Eric Liégeois, senior representative of the European Commission; Professor Laurens Klerkx of Wageningen University (Netherlands) and Universidad de Talca (Chile); and Professor Jörg Dörr of the Universität Kaiserslautern-Landau (Germany) will deliver the keynote lectures throughout the conference.
The Modernist complex of the former Hospital de Sant Pau in Barcelona will host the official gala dinner for all attendees.
